Ultra-durable, lightweight banner boasting many multiple display options

Boasting multiple display options, our fully custom printing and the aesthetic appeal of these banners make them perfect for a wide range of indoor uses including in churches, events, businesses, and in-store displays.

What are Fabric Banners?

Fabric banners are printed on a 100% polyester, washable, wrinkle-resistant fabric. The polyester offers minimal light reflection, with a light sheen that enhances the dye-sublimated printed design and overall print quality of fabric banners. Further, the thin threads and tight weave of the banners result in an ultra-durable, lightweight banner.

They are 100% customizable and one of the best ways to showcase your logo or brand.

Versatile Display Options

  • Hem: Each fabric banner is finished with a stitched hem, which reinforces the edges of the banner while giving it a clean, professional look. Hems are sewn with white stitching.
  • Pole Pockets: Include 3” pole pockets on your custom fabric banner to allow it to be showcased in a variety of ways and settings. Pole pockets are available in a top or top and bottom configuration. Pole pockets are sewn with white stitching.
  • Grommets: Grommets simplify hanging or attaching your fabric banner for displaying indoors. Grommets are an optional addition to the banner and can be placed every 12-18 inches, every 18-24 inches, every 2-3 feet, or in the 4 corners.

Advantages of Fabric Banners

  • Quality: unlike many of our competitors, our Fabric banners are produced with top-quality polyester, hand-finished seams and reinforced eyelets for clients who want to maintain a professional image and for those looking for long-lasting banners.
  • Digital Print: our banners are custom made with photographic quality print so there need be no limits to your banner designs
  • Economical: banners are economical enough that you can splash out on new banners for each new promotion or event.
  • Versatile: banners with eyelets can be fitted to many structures including fences, buildings, windbreaker poles and purpose-built banner frames

How to Display Your Banner

For fabric banners with grommets, use cords, strings, or bungees to attach the banner to a stationary object, such as poles or fences. For smaller banners, the fabric is light enough to be hung using rope or ribbon for a more aesthetically pleasing look. You can also use screws and washers to install your banners to rigid backgrounds such as wood, walls, or concrete. Pole pockets on your fabric banner allow for simple hanging for indoor displays, booths, and more. Extended outdoor use or display is not recommended for fabric banners due to the potential of irreversible damage to the fabric and colour fading when exposed to the elements.

Taking Care of your Fabric Banner

To care for your fabric banner, regular cleaning is recommended. The fabric banners can be machine washed in cold water and on a gentle cycle. Fabric banners should be laid flat or hung to dry. If needed, use a hand steamer to get rid of wrinkles or creases. Do NOT bleach, tumble dry, or iron. Avoid displaying it in direct sunlight to prevent fading.

How do fabric banners differ from standard PVC banners?

Fabric banners are made from polyester fabric while standard PVC banners are made with a plastic material that is ideal for outdoor use. PVC banners are created from the same material billboards are made of. The advantage of fabric lies in the fact that you can install it stretched to remove any wrinkles which allows for easy transport since you can fold or roll it without worrying about creases. Fabric can also create a higher quality look than a PVC banner.

What are the minimum and maximum dimensions of your banners?

Our minimum dimensions are 500 mm and maximum is 15000 mm. If you require a larger banner, please email us at info@premierdisplays.ie to discuss your needs.

Are there hems on your banners?

Welded hems are included on all of our banners. You can also choose to not have any hem or edge finish on a banner – this is referred to as a “flush cut.” Here, the banner is cut to the same size as the design. Flush-cut banners typically work fine if you’re not going to hang or otherwise suspend your banner. In this case, because there wouldn’t be much stress on the edges, it’s unlikely the banner would experience any edge fraying. If your intention is to lay your banner flat on a table or other surface, or perhaps if the banner is to be inserted into a frame, stand, or system, then a flush-cut banner can work quite nicely.

Do I have to upload my own graphic for my fabric banner?

No, you can email us at info@premiersigns.ie to request a custom design. There is a 50 euro design charge that includes up to 3 design amendments. Alternatively, you can choose the blank template and start designing from scratch on our design tool. If you do have a graphic, you can upload the PDF to make the banner.

What is the “Dye Sublimation” process and how does it work?

Dye Sublimation (or dye-sub, for short) is a common way of printing on various fabrics, and is used by printing companies around the world as a quicker and more cost effective alternative to screen printing on fabric. The design of your fabric banner is printed in reverse on a heat transfer paper. Once it is printed, both the paper and the polyester fabric go through a heat transfer machine that acts like a large iron, transferring the image from the paper directly to the fabric. This actually dyes the design into the fabric creating a durable high-quality look that can also be easily cleaned.

Do fabric banners have the ability to stretch?

While they don’t have the stretchiness of tension fabric, our fabric banners can be stretched slightly. For the longevity of the fabric, it is best to keep stretching to a minimum. Extended stretching can tear at the microfibers and damage the weave of the banner.

How thick are the fabric banners?

Our fabric banners are 260 gsm polyester. In our experience, this fabric is useful in most indoor situations and can be used outdoors for short-term events. Since the threads are so tightly woven, fabric banners hold ink very well and create a beautiful image.

Do you print in one colour or full colour? Does full-colour cost more?

All of our fabric banners are printed using the dye-sublimation process in full colour. Therefore, printing in full colour or one colour does not affect the price of the banner.

When you say custom made does that mean handmade?

No, custom made means we make the banner specifically for you. The graphics, colours and size are made according to what you want

What is the estimated lifespan of fabric banners?

Our fabric banners have an estimated lifespan of one year if they are used outdoors and 3+ years if they are used exclusively indoors. After one year of extended outdoor use, the ink on the fabric may begin to fade due to exposure to the elements. If you are looking for a longer-lasting outdoor sign, we suggest using PVC banners or aluminium.

Do you really do large-format and giant banners?

Yes we do. We can print banners up to 500 mm X 15000 mm, if you need a banner larger than that, email us at info@premierdisplays.ie to discuss your requirements.

Should I be concerned about the fabric ripping or tearing?

Fabric banners can be damaged without proper care, so be sure to keep the fabric away from things that could rip or tear it. The fabric banners, however, are scratch resistant, so there is no problem using the fabric as a tablecloth.

Can I use my fabric banner outside?

While the fabric banners do work outside, we don’t recommend using your fabric banner outside for an extended period of time. Harsh weather conditions tend to damage fabric banners. However, for a one-day outdoor event, fabric banners work just fine. If you’re looking for a more permanent outdoor banner solution, take a look at our custom PVC banners, which have a longer outdoor life.

I’m going to a trade show - will these banners work? Do I have to get grommets? If not, how do I hang it?

Our banners are intended to be hung with rope, bungee cord, zip tie or even a hook. We also offer our fabric banners with pole pockets in the top or bottom of the banners. If you are attending a trade show and are looking for retractable banners that come with a stand and a carrying case, contact us for a custom quote.

Will my banner tear in the wind if it is oversized? What about wind slits?

Regardless of the size of your banner it is highly unlikely that your banner will tear. Even the edges of your sign should be fine due to the reinforced hem that comes standard on our bannerS. The greater danger is that larger banners are more susceptible to damage during weather events with high wind when whatever is holding in place comes loose. We’ve found that wind slits are generally not an effective deterrent to high wind conditions. For these reasons we recommend temporarily taking down and storing your banner if high winds are anticipated. If you are in an area with constant high winds, we recommend using a mesh banner. Regardless, except in high wind situations, they have proven to be extremely durable in a wide variety of outdoor uses.

Will the printing fade over time?

All of our banners are printed with fade and abrasion resistant UV ink. This means that the printing should remain vibrant for years. While there will eventually be fading as there will be with any sign, we’re confident that you’ll find your custom banner to be long-lasting and crisp for years to come.

I live in a very cold part of the country - how long will my banner last?

The lifespan of our banners is 3+ years with proper care and maintenance. Consistent cold and wintery weather should not adversely impact your banner in the short term. Though the constant exposure may reduce the lifespan of the banner to a certain extent, your banner should still last for more than a couple of years.

Will your banners work for parades?

Yes, our banners work great for parades. They’re durable, weather-resistant, printed in full colour using fade and abrasion resistant ink and you can add your own graphics to make sure your message is clearly seen by all in attendance.

Will my signs fade or scratch?

The dye-sublimation process we use to print will prevent the actual printing from fading or being rubbed off over time. The fabric is scratch resistant, however it is not tear resistant. In daily use, be wary of any sharp objects as they will damage the fabric.

What are typical uses for fabric banners?

Fabric banners are used in a variety of ways. Such as used as a tablecloth for a tradeshow or convention, for photo backdrops or as wall banners for exhibitions or permanent use. Since the fabric allows for high-quality printing, it’s a great option for closely viewed signs, like behind point-of-purchase displays or near in-store displays.

Do you sell banners with pole pockets? What should I know about pole pockets and the ordering process?

Yes, we sell fabric banners with pole pockets. Pole pockets are designed as part of the original process of ordering your banner to build in sleeves for poles that will be used to display your banner. Pole pockets can be placed on the top and bottom of the banner or top only. Please note that the actual poles are not included and we do not currently sell them.

Do pole pockets affect the design area of my banner?

Including pole pockets on your banner will not change the designable area of your banner. As noted elsewhere, we recommend keeping text and design inside of the dotted lines that indicate the location of your pole pockets. This is the safest way to ensure your banner displays without text or design elements appearing somewhere that is not visible. If more design area is needed we recommend ordering a bigger banner so that you can avoid putting design elements inside the marked pole pockets while on the design tool.

Can my custom banner come with a banner stand? Can I make it a retractable or a pop-up banner?

There is no way to make your PVC banner a retractable banner post-purchase unless you have access to a stand and the dimensions are exactly what the banner stand requires. The better option is to simply buy a retractable banner on our website for your indoor needs, you can view and order our range here https://www.premierdisplays.ie/rollup-banners/products/

When I finish with my banner, can it be recycled?

Polyester is recyclable in multiple ways. You can put it in a green bin or reuse it in many forms such as bags, chair covers or table covers etc.
