An Irish Folk Story
Some years ago, in a little village on the west coast of Ireland, a boy of fourteen years tinkered with his father in their workshop producing signage for local farmers and tradespeople. As his talents and prowess grew, so his reputation for producing high-quality goods expanded in the locale. Simultaneously, the boy concentrated on his schoolwork and following a successful academic career, during which he enhanced his entrepreneurial skills, he moved his booming business to Dublin. As Managing Director of Premier Signs, Keith Gordon had founded one of the most flourishing signage and display companies in Ireland. It’s a good story and it could have ended there.
Keith is a man of two dimensions: on one hand, a young, successful businessman living the dream in his country’s capital with like-minded peers; on the other, always a home-bird, returning again and again to Sligo to be in the company of old pals. Keith shared his desire to expand into the UK and Europe, with Francis, his oldest and most reliable friend. Francis, impossibly far from the business world, but a true confidante, constantly offered support, encouragement and ideas and the concept of disblaze was born.
Most folk stories contain an element of tragedy. Last year, and without warning, Francis died leaving a hole wide enough to collapse into. From despair comes triumph. Disblaze was born as the legacy of friendship and offers business acumen alongside personal encouragement for success.
